What is Architecture?
Architectural photography is the photography of buildings, and similar structures that are both ornamental and are very exceptionally accurate representations of their subjects.
My Plan....
Margaret Stratton
Margaret Stratton's work is evolved around abandoned buildings, also old pieces of art, she believes that these old pieces of art and these mystical buildings should be remembered, documented. She describes this as "a terrible beauty", which hints at violence and loss, she tends to use black and white.
My Opinion on Margaret's Work....
This picture in my opinion is a very interesting image because it's gives a dark effect to it which therefore gives it a mysterious, also within this picture she has used the compositional rule of symmetry. She has taken it down a corridor which makes it interesting, as the hallway prepossess it starts to get smaller. It seems to be deliberately under exposed to give the sense of loneliness and isolation.
Candida Höfer
Candida has a exceptional view towards theaters, museums and hallways. within her photography she focuses on big landscapes without people because she believes that space is magnificent, also she tends to use symmetry to examine the elements of light and structure in a more abstract way, meanwhile she preferably photographs historical scenery.
My opinion on Candida Höfer work....
In this image Candida has used composition rule, landscape photography. I like the use of lighting and art work that is presented in this picture, in my opinion it looks very interesting and adventurous, also Candida has used a great depth of field so therefore she keeps everything in focus and has a good level of exposure so the theater isn't to bright or dark.
Berenice Abbott
Berenice Abbott, was an American photographer best known for her black and white, scientific photography of New York City architecture and urban design of the 1930s. The main reason why all her work is in black and white is because back then in the 1920's-1930's they didn't have colour, also her work wasn't always beautiful scenery she avoided the prettier buildings as she favored the thought of 'fantastic' contrast between the old and new buildings. The way she photographed her buildings was with the diligence and attention to detail.
My Opinion on Berenice Abbott's work....
I like this picture because of the angle Berenice has taken it at (worms eye view), this is a very creative image because from this view she has made the buildings much bigger than they really are, in this picture she has used the composition triangle which makes the middle building section of from the others.
Ezra Stoller
Ezra Stoller photographed buildings, large and small, inside and out. He created visual narratives, moving in and around the space to describe structure, material and use, Ezra taken predominately all of his shoots in black and white. Stoller's photography is always remembered because of the pictures he always taken of modern buildings, his work-pieces were very unique because his work was very spacious and orthodox "Modern Architecture".
My Opinion on Ezra Stoller's work....
I really like this picture as the way it has been taken from a eye level view has given it a very creative perspective. The compositional rule of lining has been used as the curved lines lead the viewers eyes toward the window after flowing the spiral effect as well as the window being upon focal points within the rule of thirds. In my opinion her work is very inspiring because she is very creative and intelligent so therefore I'm going to use her ideas.
Lucien Hervé
Lucien Hervé's photography is very imaginative and special because his use of light is very magnificent, he angles his camera to create beautiful shadows in his photography. Also the Hungarian photographer taken his pictures in black and white because back then, he was known as a "rare photography" because he was able combine his humanistic outlook with a architectural eye.
My Opinion on Lucien Hervé's work....
I like this picture a lot because he has used the light to his advantage, the picture also is over-exposed to the right extent to make it look bright but not too bright. Meanwhile he has angled his camera to create shadows and black out the person in the picture. Furthermore Lucien has used the composition rule of symmetry to make it eye catching.
Victor Enrich
Victor Enrich is a Catalan Photographer and also is one of the most creative and impeccable photographers I have came across, for the reason that he is so imaginative and that the ideas that become beautiful photography are incredible. Enrich sets himself the duty to witness the gravity of the urban soul while it changes from an understood shape into an intellectual experiment.
My Opinion on Victor Enrich's work....
In my opinion Victor's work is very beautiful also creative that it is very special, unique and exquisite. In this picture he has edited the picture to look unrealistic because he believes that in editing and photography defying gravity looks ravishing, which in my opinion it makes it very different in comparison to other photographers. When taking the picture Victor has used the triangle composition rule.
Test Shoot
My Plan: In this test run ,my plan is to make a arch out of the sports village building to therefore replicate Victor Enrich's work as an inspiration.
In my opinion my test shoot went quite well, my plan is to just to use these as a practice run and make some edits.

First Shoot
Step 1
Here I am loading the picture onto Photoshop to edit, after my picture added a different filter onto it.
Step 2
This step I am editing the effect on the picture and making it into a sketched dark image.
Step 3
This step I cut out a picture of a church glass from one of my other shoots and transferred it into this photo, eventually I had the idea to make it look like a archway to heaven.
Final Edit...
Here is the final product, I have put on a dark sketch theme towards it, I have used the rule of thirds to great perspective in this image. My picture tells a story behind, my image gives on the impression of a walkway to heaven, an "Archway To Heaven".
Second Shoot
Third Shoot
Exam Work
Final Pieces....
Throughout all my images, all my images are about architecture, The main inspiration for my manipulating comes from Victor Enrich and Ezra Stoller’s
ideology that the images should not always tell a story but make the audience of the image create their own story. I've chosen to use dark backgrounds as all my buildings have bright lights which showcases them and makes them stand out more, the raining effect on my image represents bleakness and dark atmosphere, the stars and manipulation of the building gives the image a enthusiastic mood the audience however the standard images portray also in my images I prefer not to use people like one of my researched artists "Candida Hofer".
